<p>The WFR XXX Premiership has been turned on its head after a remarkable Round 4 featuring a major WFRTV upset, three fifty-point performances, a spectacular comeback victory and the end of the competition’s final unbeaten records.</p>
<p>The Peninsula Whalers produced the headline result, shutting out previously unbeaten Leeds Tigers 17-0 in a stunning defensive performance. Wellington Dolphins also lost their perfect record after Harlequins Cymraeg swept them aside 29-7.</p>
<p>Elsewhere, New Mexico Diablos reached 64 points against Silverstream Wild, Galway Greyhounds continued their explosive rise with a 51-17 victory over Hibiscus Heat, and Capitol Rhinos celebrated their first win by destroying Central Vikings 50-13. Southern SwashBucklers completed the weekend with one of the season’s most dramatic finishes, scoring at fulltime to defeat Durban Sports Club 25-22. After four rounds, no Premiership side remains unbeaten—and the competition is suddenly wide open.</p>

<p>The Peninsula Whalers have produced one of the biggest upsets of the WFR XXX season, ending Leeds Tigers’ perfect start with an extraordinary 17-0 victory.</p>
<p>The Whalers led 10-0 at halftime before adding another converted try after the break, becoming the first side this season to prevent Leeds from scoring a single point. Peninsula crossed through Louis Bielle-Biarrey and captain Ryan Crotty, while Richie Mo’unga converted both tries and added a penalty goal.</p>
<p>Leeds controlled 60% possession and held a narrow 52-48 territorial advantage, but those numbers only made the Whalers’ defensive achievement more impressive. The Tigers had plenty of the ball yet could not convert their pressure into a try, penalty or drop goal.</p>
<p>Peninsula were forced to defend for long periods and also completed the match with only 40% possession. However, their defensive organisation, accuracy at critical moments and superior finishing completely changed the contest. The Tigers’ task was made more difficult by two yellow cards. The final statistics confirm Leeds received both cards, although the attached images do not identify the individual players involved. Both teams also suffered injury concerns, with Leeds recording two injuries and Peninsula one.</p>
<p>For the Whalers, this was a massive response after consecutive defeats to Harlequins and Galway. For Leeds, it was a sobering reminder that possession means little without execution.</p>

<p>New Mexico Diablos continued their extraordinary attacking form by overwhelming Silverstream Wild 64-35 in a fifteen-try shootout.</p>
<p>The Diablos began at breathtaking speed, scoring five tries inside the opening 17 minutes. AJ MacGinty crossed twice during that spell, while David Still, Manie Libbok and Gregory Alldritt also scored as New Mexico surged to a 31-0 lead.</p>
<p>Silverstream responded through Jone Nareki and Isaia Walker-Leawere, but another MacGinty try gave the Diablos a commanding 38-14 halftime advantage. The Wild threatened a genuine comeback after the break. Nareki completed his double before Xavier Numia reduced the deficit to 38-28.</p>
<p>New Mexico then slammed the door. David Ainu’u scored twice, while Libbok completed a hat-trick as the Diablos powered past 60 points. Will Jordan scored Silverstream’s fifth try at fulltime, but the result had long been decided. MacGinty and Libbok both scored hat-tricks, while Libbok also kicked seven conversions for a 29-point personal haul. New Mexico controlled 61.25% possession and spent 47 minutes in opposition territory.</p>

<h3>Galway Continue Surge With Eight-Try Win</h3>
<p><strong>Galway Greyhounds 51 def. Hibiscus Heat 17 </strong></p>
<p>Galway Greyhounds have followed their Round 3 demolition of Peninsula with another attacking masterclass, defeating Hibiscus Heat 51-17.</p>
<p>Antoine Dupont opened the scoring in the 15th minute before Ethan Blackadder and Duhan van der Merwe helped Galway build a 17-0 advantage. Mahue Mauheni briefly gave Hibiscus hope, but Blackadder’s second try and another van der Merwe score sent Galway into halftime leading 29-7. Van der Merwe then completely took over after the break.</p>
<p>The powerful Galway winger scored in the 42nd and 52nd minutes to complete a four-try performance. Dupont added his second try in the 60th minute before kicking a late penalty goal. Hibiscus responded through Simon Parker and Aidan Morgan but could not keep pace with Galway’s relentless attack.</p>
<p>The Greyhounds controlled 66.25% possession and spent 51 minutes in opposition territory. They have now scored 97 points across their last two matches after beginning the season with two defeats.</p>

<p><strong>Capitol Rhinos 50 def. Central Vikings 13 </strong></p>
<p>Capitol Rhinos have broken through for their first victory of the season in emphatic fashion, overpowering Central Vikings 50-13. After three competitive but unsuccessful opening performances, the Rhinos left nothing to chance in Round 4.</p>
<p>Embrose Papier scored twice in the first half, with Jarod Cairns also crossing as Capitol built a 19-6 halftime advantage. Central’s only first-half points came through a Luron Iosefa penalty and a Nathan Hastie drop goal. The Rhinos exploded after the break.</p>
<p>Marcel van der Merwe, Francois Klopper and Andre-Hugo Venter all scored before Cairns completed his double in the 76th minute. AJ Lam scored Central’s only try at the death, but the Vikings had already been comprehensively beaten.</p>
<p>George Whitehead contributed 15 points through six conversions and a penalty goal. Capitol controlled 61.25% possession, won the lineouts 15-10 and scored seven tries in their most complete performance so far.</p>

<p>Capitol Rhinos Papier scored twice in the opening 35 minutes and gave Capitol the fast start they needed. His tempo and finishing established the platform for the Rhinos’ first victory.</p>

<p><strong>Harlequins Cymraeg 29 def. Wellington Dolphins 7 </strong></p>
<p>Harlequins Cymraeg produced one of Round 4’s biggest statements, defeating previously unbeaten Wellington Dolphins 29-7.</p>
<p>The Welsh side dominated the opening half. Jared Rosser scored in the 16th minute, Bryn Bradley followed three minutes later and Luke Davies added a third try in the 25th. Sam Costelow converted all three, giving Harlequins a commanding 21-0 halftime lead.</p>
<p>Wellington were unable to find any sustained attacking rhythm after the break, and Christian Coleman’s 63rd-minute try extended the Harlequins lead to 26-0. Costelow later added a penalty goal before Allan Craig finally scored Wellington’s only try in the 77th minute.</p>
<p>Harlequins held 52.5% possession, spent 44 minutes in opposition territory and repeatedly frustrated a Dolphins side that had scored 47 points only one week earlier. Wellington conceded nine penalties and committed 11 handling errors, preventing them from building the pressure required to launch a comeback.</p>

<p>Southern SwashBucklers completed a remarkable comeback to defeat Durban Sports Club 25-22, with Danyon Morgan-Puterangi scoring the match-winning try at fulltime.</p>
<p>Durban controlled the opening stages through tries to Leolin Zas and Francke Horn, building a 14-0 advantage. Morgan-Puterangi scored Southern’s first try in the 27th minute, reducing the halftime deficit to 14-5.</p>
<p>The SwashBucklers playmaker then transformed the match after the break. He scored again in the 42nd minute, converted his own try and landed a drop goal three minutes later to put Southern ahead 15-14. Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu restored Durban’s lead with a try and later added a penalty goal, moving the visitors out to 22-15.</p>
<p>Luke Jacobson crossed in the 67th minute, but the missed conversion left Southern trailing 22-20. With the match entering its final moments, Southern launched one last attack. Morgan-Puterangi crossed in the 80th minute to complete his hat-trick and snatch a dramatic three-point victory. Durban also lost Francke Horn for an estimated two to three games and Paul de Villiers for one to two games.</p>

<p>The response of the round. After conceding 81 points across their previous two matches, Peninsula shut out the unbeaten Tigers. Their defence, composure and tactical discipline restored their season in one night. </p>

<p>The Premiership’s most explosive attacking side right now. The Diablos have scored 111 points across their last two games, beating Durban and Silverstream in consecutive weeks. </p>
<p><strong>Galway Greyhounds </strong></p>
<p>Galway have gone from 0-2 to one of the competition’s form teams. Their attack has exploded, with 97 points and 14 tries across Rounds 3 and 4.</p>

<p>Southern showed enormous character. They trailed by nine at halftime and by seven during the closing quarter but found a way to win through Morgan-Puterangi’s brilliance. </p>

<p>A hugely impressive performance. Harlequins have now beaten both Peninsula and Wellington, proving they can trouble the Premiership’s strongest squads.</p>
<p><strong>Capitol Rhinos </strong></p>
<p>Finally rewarded. Capitol had been competitive during their opening three defeats, and the 50-point breakthrough showed what the Rhinos can produce when they sustain pressure for the full match.</p>
<p><strong>Leeds Tigers </strong></p>
<p>The perfect start is over, and the manner of defeat will concern them. Leeds had 60% possession but failed to score, while two yellow cards damaged their chances of building momentum.</p>
<p><strong>Wellington Dolphins </strong></p>
<p>A major step backwards after three wins. Wellington were 21-0 down at halftime and never found their attacking rhythm. Their response in Round 5 will now be fascinating.</p>
<p><strong>Silverstream Wild </strong></p>
<p>Silverstream scored five tries and 35 points yet were comprehensively beaten. Their attack remains dangerous, but conceding ten tries is a major defensive warning.</p>
